
Chad Walker
Chad Walker focuses his practice on qui tam/whistleblower litigation, patent litigation, business litigation, complex litigation. He has participated in numerous trials, including serving as lead trial counsel in six trials. Notably, Chad has been selected by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” every year since 2012.
Experience
•State of Texas Ex Rel. Allen Jones v. Johnson & Johnson. (Texas State Court) – Counsel for Relator in Texas Medicaid Fraud Prevention Act case. Settled during trial for the largest Medicaid fraud settlement in Texas history.
•United States Ex. Michael Fisher et al. v. Ocwen Loan Servicing. (Federal Court)-Counsel for Relators in False Claims Act case against mortgage loan servicer. Declined case settled prior to trial.
•United States Ex. Rel. Don Pyburn et al. v. DNA Stat, Primex Clinical Laboratory et al.-Counsel for Relators in False Claims Act case alleging kickback scheme involving pharmacogenetic testing.
Credentials
Prior to joining Winston, Chad served as a principal in the Dallas office of Fish & Richardson, where he was previously a summer associate with the firm (2003 and 2004). His previous legal experience includes a position as a law clerk for the honorable Philip R. Martinez, United States District Court for the Western District of Texas (2005-2006); legal intern for The Honorable Chief Justice Thomas R. Phillips of the Texas Supreme Court (2003); and a legal intern for Russell D. Hunt, Sr., a criminal defense attorney in Waco, Texas (2001). He has technical experience as a co-op engineer in the Software Engineering Group for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (2001), and a co-op engineer in the Systems Engineering Group (2000).
Chad received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Baylor University in 2002, and he received his J.D., with high honors, from University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 2005, where he was associate editor for the Texas Law Review, national merit scholar, finalist for the Best Brief Award at the Susman Godfrey Moot Court Competition, and received the dean’s achievement award in criminal law.
