
Rosalyn Mitchell
Rosalyn Mitchell is Managing Counsel, Intellectual Property and class action litigation at Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (“TMNA”)
In this role, Mitchell has managed a wide variety of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and class action litigation in federal and state courts as well as before the International Trade Commission. She has in-depth experience with IP litigation strategies, risk mitigation and protective measures to preserve defense and indemnity obligations from suppliers. Mitchell also manages complex business litigation for Toyota, including various class actions matters.
Beyond litigation, Mitchell supports new and emerging issues related to Toyota’s business strategy as the company expands to be a global leader in mobility, encompassing autonomous, connected and sustainable vehicle technologies. She is a member of Toyota’s privacy and cybersecurity team, with a focus on the future of cybersecurity and the role of cybersecurity in corporate strategy. She also works closely with auto industry organizations and Toyota’s government relations team on IP-related issues.
Mitchell is a passionate advocate for advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, including in law school admissions and law firm hiring practices. She has also been a key driver of implementing best practices within Toyota’s legal department.
Previously, Mitchell managed IP litigation for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and oversaw a large number of patents, trademark, and trade dress cases in federal court and the ITC.
Mitchell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Law.
