Ranganath (Ranga) Sudarshan is a trial and appellate lawyer who helps innovation-driven clients resolve their most important technology disputes. He has particular expertise in advising clients on cross-border intellectual property issues, whether in providing strategic portfolio advice, defending against infringement allegations, or enforcing intellectual property rights.
Ranga received Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees from Stanford in Computer Science, where he was a Mayfield Fellow. He then received a law degree from Berkeley, where he was an editor of the Berkeley Law & Technology Journal. Ranga subsequently clerked for Judge Randall Rader at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
He has spent much of his career representing clients in the Eastern District, including both plaintiffs and defendants. Some of the clients he is proud to have represented include Apple Inc., BKT Tires, GE Lighting Solutions, Elbit Systems, Microsoft Corp., OnePlus Technology, Samsung Electronics Corporation, and Texas Instruments Inc. Ranga also has an active pro bono practice, including representation of veterans and indigent criminal defendants.
